This is the true story about a little known martyr who was beatified by Pope Benedict 16th. Franz Jagerstatter was an Austrian farmer who refused to fight for the Nazi's during World War II. Because he would not compromise his views about the evils of Nazism, nor would he sign an oath of allegiance to Hitler and Third Reich, Franz was imprisoned. His Catholic faith and love for Fani (his wife) his only supports before finally being put to death.

Running time is 173 minutes, Written and directed by Terrence Malick.
