Crusader Rosary

I purchased this rosary for my grandson’’s confirmation. Both he and his parents were so happy and impressed by its beauty and superior quality.

I bought this rosary about 18 months ago , and it has seen almost daily use since ( I sometimes use one of my other rosaries for certain feasts and special occasions . ) Other than the paracord becoming more flexible ( a little stiff for the first few uses ) it is like new . Any Catholic should know the AUTHENTIC history of those who " took the cross " in the middle ages , and should be proud to use this beautiful sacramental . The crucifix is large and exquisitely detailed (if anything , it is even more impressive than the description and photograph . ) The same is true of the central "crusader helm " . A design featuring the crusader cross is physically inscribed on the Hail, Mary beads . The durability of this rosary is a great feature ( imagine those times when you are praying your Rosary and others in the church are making noise as if at a football game - you can grip it as hard as you must without concern of damage . )
Drawbacks : the comforting size and weight also mean that this is probably not going to be the rosary that is always in your pocket ( I carry a tiny one-decade ring for that . ) The price certainly gives a prudent person pause ; after all, the beautiful prayer of the Rosary is just as efficacious if said on a knotted string , or one's fingers . If a friend or loved one asks what gift you would like for a special occasion , well , the price is roughly comparable to a four-volume Breviary , and more than one friend can contribute .
Conclusion : this would be a 5 + star rating on everything but price , but it is clear the amount of work and attention to detail that the piece involves . I strongly suggest getting the leather pouch that is recommended for it , as it will not fit any standard rosary case . I would gladly buy this again , but I'm sure I'll never have to - it is made to last more than one lifetime .
