The life of Saint Rita is one of many painful trials. She had a difficult marriage to an abusive man, her sons would end up going astray from the faith, and when she entered religious life after becoming a widow, she was mistreated by the members of her order. For all her sufferings, Rita offered them all to Christ for souls. Eventually she would received the Sacred Wound on her head, sharing in Jesus' crown of thorns. She is called on for marriage aid and seemingly hopeless causes.
