Beauty in small things—NCB compact edition

Beautiful Bible

I had been searching for a compact (as close to "pocket" sized as possible) Douay Rheims Bible for a long time. When I ordered this one (in black leather), it was exactly what I wanted. It includes the three papal encyclicals on holy scripture: Providentissimus Deus, Spiritus Paraclitus, and Divino Afflante Spiritu. It has several pages of glossy black and white illustrations between the old and new testaments. It has gilt page edges and the genuine leather binding is stitched, not glued. It has two ribbon markers. It measures approximately 5"x7", a perfect size for my purse. The translation is beautiful with footnotes that are faithful to the Church's teachings. Overall, it is an exquisite Bible.

The large print helps a lot for those of us who due to age can't see as well as we used to.
