SAN DAMIANO MUG - PREACH THE GOSPEL

The San Damiano Mug has the icon cross displaying strength and the faith of the people. The cross is a Byzantine style that was common in Italy, also known as the Cimabue Cross.

According to Franciscan tradition, it was while praying before this cross in the chapel of San Damiano, outside of Assisi, that Francis of Assisi received a call to rebuild the Church.
